The real time web is the big challenge for a lot of companies like in the search industry where a non search engine is for the moment the only place where you can search in real time and that’s Twitter.
Vodafone now launched a new site that provides a real time Time Top 40 music chart, tracking the tunes that music fans are tweeting. People vote for their favourite tracks by tweeting the artist and title, along with the hashtag #RealTimeTop40.
It’s a really interesting campaign and potentially a good example of social media use: it mixes different objectives creating awareness for the brand, proving a service for the user at the same time as a clear business objective.
Let’s see how far they get. For the moment, it’s not a big hit as there are only 3 tweets in an hour…
